Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina right-handed pitcher Matt Price and first baseman Christian Walker earned Freshman All-America honors from Baseball America. Price was selected to the first team with Walker being named to the second team.

Price, who also received Freshman All-America honors from Collegiate Baseball, finished the 2010 season with a 5-1 record and a 2.26 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched with 10 saves. He struck out 83 batters to just 19 walks in 55.2 innings pitched. Price’s last victory came in the national championship game of the 2010 College World Series in Omaha, Neb.

Walker came on late for the Gamecocks and finished with a .327 batting average (74-for-226) with nine HR and 51 RBI as well. He was the team’s leading hitter as well in SEC games with a .346 clip in conference play.
