COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina senior forward Sam Arthur has been named to the Preseason All-Conference USA team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. It marks the second-consecutive season that the Roswell, Ga., native has been selected to the squad.

An All-Conference USA First Team honoree at the conclusion of last season, Arthur led South Carolina with eight goals and 18 points in 2009. He also added two assists and a team-best 45 shots, while netting three game-winning goals on the year. Arthur ranked among conference leaders in goals (t-5th) and game-winning goals (t-3rd).

South Carolina kicks off the 2010 campaign with an exhibition contest at High Point University on Aug. 21. Season tickets for men’s soccer, which includes admission to all home games, are currently on sale in the Gamecock Ticket Office. Fans can purchase tickets online at GamecocksOnline.com, or by calling 1-800-4SC-FANS. Cost for season tickets for men’s soccer is $25 for adults and $10 for youth (17 and under).
