Summer is rapidly drawing to a close for all the students at the University of South Carolina, as student-athletes have already started reporting for the fall teams. The softball team comes back to campus soon, and we here at GamecocksOnline.com figured we should ask what their favorite thing they did this summer before they got back in class mode. So here is how the team responded.

Dana Hathorn: Go to New Orleans and visit my grandma in Louisiana!

Kierstyn White: Going to Texas and seeing all my family, especially my big brother, for a family reunion!

Chelsea Hawkins: My favorite thing was probably learning to wake board! I ate it the first couple times, but then finally got the hang of it. Better watch out!

Evan Childs: My favorite thing this summer was going to the Maroon 5 concert with Samie Garcia and moving into my new house! Also, I loved working out and hanging out with my teammates who were in town with me. Stoked to see everyone who’s on the way back! 🙂

Samie Garcia: I have two favorite things that I did this summer. I went to the MTV Movie Awards with a friend when I was back home in LA, and it was awesome. I got to sit 3 three rows in front of Twilight star Kellan Lutz and many other celebrities. I also had a wonderful time with Evan at the Maroon 5 concert in Charlotte, NC. Maroon 5 definitely rocked it!

Audrey Broyles: My family and I vacationed to New York City. We saw a Broadway play (Anything Goes), toured the city, and I hailed my first cab! We also went tubing a bunch on our lake in Jacksonville.

Sam Arbaugh: I got a new puppy at the beginning of summer and have spent every minute with him! He even went to the beach with me for a week.

Kelley Dillon: Go to the lake house with my family and friends on the weekends. And (a) road trip with my dad to get my new car!

Kaela Jackson: I got to go to my cousin’s wedding! My mom’s whole side of the family is from New York, so it was great having all of those Yankees down south for this wedding. Shout out to the Bush family! Woot woot!

Hannah Milks: I have had a fantastic summer! But the best thing of all has been the early mornings, road trips, naps, hot afternoons, and the sweet cuddling with my new baby sister, darling puppy, Juno 🙂
