KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Three South Carolina men’s tennis players are still active in the USTA Boys 18 National Championships this week. Sophomore Chip Cox and incoming freshman Andrew Adams won their third-round qualifying matches in the feed-in bracket, while incoming freshman Kyle Koch dropped his third-round match in the main draw but will continue in the feed-in bracket Tuesday.

Cox and Adams yielded just five games combined en route to the third-straight win for each. Cox topped Phillip Nelson 6-1, 6-2 to set up Tuesday’s battle with Alexander Petrone. Adams took out Hunter Goetz 6-1, 6-1 and will face Nicholas Naumann in the next round.

Facing the tournament’s No. 17 seed, Koch won the first set 6-4 but saw Anthony Tsodikov claim the next two sets 6-4, 6-3 to advance in the main draw. Koch will face Michael Chamerski in the third round of the feed-in bracket on Tuesday.
