COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley announced today that team physicians have determined that freshman guard Shelbretta Ball has been medically disqualified from participating at the University of South Carolina. Ball was evaluated by several specialists who assisted the team physicians in reaching this conclusion.

Ball signed with the Gamecocks in May after helping Jackson Academy to the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Class AAA Girls’ State Championship.
