Republished from their personal blog with permission from the authors, we’re going to catch up with Gamecock volleyball student-athletes Cara Howley and Lindsey Craft during their trip to Spain as part of their international business program. Hola! We started classes today, and come to find out, it’s 4 hours long, and our teachers speak in Spanish the entire time! We were able to understand most of the first class, but when we got to the next one, there were already students that had been taking that class for three weeks prior to us being there. Our teacher decided to try and teach the five of us about 30 days worth of Spanish history in only three minutes (not to mention it was fast Spanish)!! In the next class, I (Lindsey) wasn’t paying attention and saw our teacher write Sonsoles on the board. I saw Cara next to me writing it down, so I wrote it down too, thinking it was important. Fifteen minutes later, I looked at Cara and asked her what the heck that meant. Cara almost lost it in class and told me it was our teacher’s name! I guess that means I should pay more attention to our fast-talking Spanish professors!
