With approximately 100 days until South Carolina Football kicks off the 2012 season, South Carolina Athletics has launched its second “It’s Great To Be A Gamecock” marketing campaign.

After being teased in social media for five days, the first video was launched May 21 on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Pinterest. In addition, the 90-second long-form video will air on the NBC, CBS, and ABC Columbia affiliates during the 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. local news broadcasts. Print, radio, and outdoor elements to the campaign will be rolled out in the coming weeks.

The campaign centers on the historic 2011 football season as well as the two new fan amenities in the area formerly known as the Farmer’s Market and the gigantic 124′ x 36′ new videoboard. “Experience it for the first time … Again” is a key message that will weave throughout all elements of the campaign.

“We believe that coming to a Carolina football game this year will be so different that it will be like the first game you ever attended in Williams-Brice Stadium,” said Eric Nichols, Assistant Athletics Director/Marketing. “The line is also a nod to Coach Spurrier and the list of `firsts’ he has accomplished since he has been head coach at South Carolina.”

The deadline to renew season ticket locations from last year is May 31; however new season tickets are available now and throughout the summer. Fans can view all the ads and learn about ticket options at GamecocksOnline.com/football2012.
