Junior running back Marcus Lattimore heads of list of seven South Carolina Gamecocks named to Phil Steele’s 2012 preseason All-SEC teams, according to the national publication. The entire squad will appear in Phil Steele’s 2012 College Football Preview, which will hit the newsstands on June 5, or can be found on their website, PhilSteele.com.

Lattimore was the only Gamecock named to the first team preseason All-SEC squad and was also named to Steele’s first team All-American unit.

Sophomore defensive end Jadeveon Clowney heads a list of four Gamecocks named to the second team All-SEC squad. Joining Clowney on the second team are senior defensive end Devin Taylor, senior linebacker DeVonte Holloman and senior offensive center T.J. Johnson. Clowney was also named to the fourth team All-American squad.

Senior safety D.J. Swearinger was a third team All-SEC pick and junior punt returner Ace Sanders earned a spot on the All-SEC fourth team, according to Steele.

Coming off a school-record 11-win campaign, the Gamecocks will report for fall camp on Thursday, August 2, with the first full squad workout set for Friday, August 3.
