Omaha, Neb. – South Carolina (49-18) and Arizona (46-17) open up play in the CWS Championship Series on Sunday night in Omaha at TD Ameritrade Park. First pitch is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET with the game televised live on ESPN2. Mike Patrick, Orel Hershiser and Kyle Peterson will call the action. Arizona – Konner Wade, RHP, So. (10-3, 4.17 ERA, 127.1 IP 36 BB, 102 SO)
This is the first meeting ever between the two schools on the baseball diamond.
South Carolina is making its third consecutive appearance in the CWS Championship Series having won back-to-back national championships in 2010 and 2011. South Carolina is the designated road team for the first game and will be the home game for Monday night’s contest. If the teams play a third game on Tuesday, South Carolina will be the home team after winning a coin toss.
