COLUMBIA, S.C. – Former South Carolina women’s golfer Amanda Strang was eliminated on Friday from the Ladies’ British Open Amateur Championship at the Carnoustie Links in Scotland.

Strang won her third-round match to open the day, 3 and 1, over former East Tennessee State standout Nina Muehl to advance to the quarterfinals. However, her run came to an end, as she was defeated 6 and 4 in her fourth-round matchup.

Strang was one of 64 golfers out of 144 to make it to match play along with South Carolina rising sophomore Justine Dreher. Strang won both of her matches on Thursday to advance to today’s play, while Dreher was eliminated in the second round.
