While South Carolina’s softball team gets a new stadium, the team will play a majority of its fall games on the road. However, the team has found a site to host the National Pro Fastpitch All-Star Team again, head coach Beverly Smith announced today.

The Gamecocks will challenge the NPF squad on Thurs., Oct. 11 at the Pine Grove Complex, with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. Pine Grove Complex is located on Old Barnhill Road in West Columbia.

For the rest of the seven games allowed by the NCAA for non-competition season games, the Gamecocks will play four games at Charlotte and three at Appalachian State. On Sept. 28-30, South Carolina faces the host 49ers twice, Greensboro College and Elon on Charlotte’s campus. The fall season concludes Oct. 13-14, when the Gamecocks take on the host Mountaineers, Lees-McRae and Pitt County Community College in Boone, N.C.

South Carolina will open a new stadium on the same site it has called home for 30 years this spring. The new facility will nearly double the seating capacity at Beckham Field and bring great amenities to everyone who comes to the games.
