COLUMBIA, S.C. –
South Carolina learned Monday that three of its Southeastern Conference games will be televised as part of the Southeastern Conference’s deal, including one from the new Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field.

Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) selected the third scheduled game from the new facility, as defending national champion Alabama comes to Columbia for a three-game set. The Saturday contest is now slated for a 12 noon first pitch to accommodate the network.

The networks also chose two road games for South Carolina. The first is a Good Friday (March 29) affair at Missouri, starting at 8 p.m. ET in the other Columbia on FOX Sports Net. And the final televised contest is set for Sat., April 20 at 6 p.m. from Auburn. ESPNU will show the second game of that series on the plains.

In all, 35 games were selected for telecast this season, including all nine games of the SEC Softball Tournament, emanating from Lexington, Ky., from May 8-11.

South Carolina’s opponents for the College of Charleston Cougar Classic have also been announced. The Gamecocks take on Wagner at 10 a.m. on Patriots Point outside Charleston on Sat., Feb. 23 before closing the day against Charleston Southern. On Sun., Feb. 24, South Carolina faces Radford at 2:30 p.m. and the host Cougars at 4:30 p.m.

The Gamecocks open the 2013 season this Friday in the Stetson Lead-Off Classic, taking on the Hatters at 6:30 p.m. EST at Patricia Wilson Field in DeLand, Fla.
