April 8, 2013

For the third straight year, the Gamecock Club will be taking the Fan Fest event on the road. The popular family-friendly tour will make six stops this year, including five throughout the Palmetto State, to promote South Carolina Athletics. The cities that will welcome the Gamecock Fan Fest this year are Florence, Charleston, Spartanburg, York, Greenville and Atlanta.

Head football coach Steve Spurrier and head men’s basketball coach Frank Martin will be the featured speakers at each event, along with other Carolina head coaches.

Each event will begin at 5:30pm, with the exception of the Atlanta fan fest, which will begin at 6:00pm, and will have Cocky and the cheerleaders on hand, along with photo opportunities for fans with several football and baseball trophies, including the Outback Bowl trophy, the Hardees Trophy and the Baseball National Championship trophies.

Plenty of activities will be on tap for the kids at each stop, including a Gamecock Bounce House, Football Quarterback Challenge, Field Goal Kick and Baseball Smash. Youngsters can also dress up as their favorite Gamecock athlete, with changing stations available for baseball, football, basketball, softball, soccer and cheerleading uniforms.

In addition, Coach Spurrier will bring back the popular game ball fundraiser in which he will sign souvenir footballs celebrating the 2012 record-setting season for $89.99 (Cash, Check, and Card accepted).

Admission to each event is $5 (cash only) and may be paid at the Fan Fest entrance. Live music will be provided at each event along the way.
