Sean Sullivan
On his diving catch…
[Tyler] Webb threw one in there, kind of surprising because Webb usually doesn’t give up any hard hit balls he just strikes everybody out. It was one of those balls I didn’t want to get it caught in between so I figured just get it at eye level and make a play. I caught it and Webb did the rest.

On playing with his brother…
It means a lot. We grew up here our whole lives and I think we are both really good team guys. We just want to win, that’s all we care about, and that’s what we are here to accomplish. He [Patrick] has been a big force here for five years and I just came last year but he has helped me integrate into the Gamecock culture and I have been very grateful for his help while I’ve been here.

On playing with his brother…
It’s great for us to contribute together like that, especially it being the last home game of the regular season. I’ve been really happy for Sean and everything he has contributed to the team this year and getting all those game winning hits last year. Just being a part of this program is great after my dad played here and coached here. It’s been a big family thing and hopefully we have a couple more games left and we will finish out this year well together.

On going back out in the ninth inning…
Coach [Jerry] Myers told me that I was going to go back in to start the inning, but I knew if I got in trouble I had faith [Tyler] Webb would come in and close the door. I knew he was going to give me the opportunity to close it, but once Webb got hot, there was no point in wasting him.

Chase Vergason
On the quick start…
Having an easy go of it was definitely not our mentality going into the game. He [Tim Corbin] kept us on our feet, they had a lot of double plays, but we kept battling out there. The good team prevails and works through it and we came out with this one.

Head Coach Chad Holbrook
Opening Statement
It was a great game, I thought we played very well at times. Every time we play Presbyterian we know we are going to get a great shot from them and it seems like every time we play them it’s a one run game. I told Coach Elton [Pollock] after the game that he has a lot to be proud of. They played their rear ends off and we were very fortunate to win. With that being said I’m proud of my team. We pitched a number of guys today, we didn’t have LB [Dantzler] and then Joey [Panake] was playing with only one good hand, Joey has a bit of a bum finger. I’m proud of>Sean Sullivan for that play he made in the ninth inning to help save the game. We got some contributions from some people who hadn’t been playing much. All in all it finishes our home regular season at 28-6 and for that I’m very proud.

On finishes the season strong…
It’s just pleasing to win. We played very clean baseball to win all three against Georgia and we played another clean game tonight. I hope our guys are getting into a routine and that we are feeling good about ourselves right now. We are feeling good right now but you know nine innings from now we could feel bad about ourselves. We have been playing well and as a coach you want to be playing well this time of the year, so hopefully we can continue that momentum.
