COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina sophomore Caleb Sturgeon has been named to the SEC Community Service team, the conference office announced Wednesday.

A native of Laurens, S.C., Sturgeon has been very active in the community since his arrival in Columbia. This year he participated in the Light the Night Walk to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. He was involved with the SCJGA Golf Tournament at Hickory Knob State Park and the George Bryan Exhibition Game. He also participated in reading days at Killian Elementary School.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community through superior service efforts.
