COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina senior Meredith Swanson has been named to the 2013 SEC Women’s Golf Community Service Team, the conference office announced Tuesday.

A native of Roanoke, Va., Swanson has been active in the community during her last year in Columbia. She’s been a regular visitor at the Carolina Children’s Group and the Palmetto Richland Children’s Hospital. She has also joined in on a panel discussion at Heathwood Hall.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community through superior service efforts.
