COLUMBIA, S.C. – Six members on the 2012-13 squad list for the South Carolina softball team earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete certificates, the group released today.

To pick up a spot on the list, the student-athlete must achieve a 3.50 grade point average during the entire academic year. Current Gamecocks Ansley Ard, Julie Sarratt and Kristen Struett gained the award as well as former players Molly Brossart, Kylie Morin and Kelly Plescow.

Over 4,000 softball players over seven different division from the highest college level to the high school ranks made the coaches association listing. Last year, 10 Gamecocks picked up the honor.
