Gamecock fans have voted for the Top 10 Moments of the Spurrier Era at South Carolina as the Head Ball Coach gets ready for his 10th season with the Gamecocks. We’re counting down the fans’ top 10 and here is No. 2. In a series that has been played since 1896, Carolina had never defeated its in-state rival Clemson five-straight times – until 2013. Behind the play of senior quarterback Connor Shaw and a defense that forced turnover after turnover, the Gamecocks extended their home winning streak to 18-straight games and won “one for the thumb” with a 31-17 victory over the Tigers.
