The Gamecocks opened the 2011 season with a 56-37 come-from-behind win over ECU on September 3 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Marcus Lattimore turned in three touchdowns on the night, Stephen Garcia sparked the team with two rushing TD's, and Ace Sanders had a receiving TD as well as scoring the final TD of the night on an electrifying 68-yard punt return.
