UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — Former South Carolina All-American Mark Silvers carded a final-round 73 (+3) on Sunday at Chambers Bay to finish the 115th U.S. Open in a tie for 54th place.

Silvers wrapped up his second career U.S. Open appearance with a 72-hole total of 291 (+11). He missed the cut at the 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. The tie for 54th finish is Silvers’ best finish in six career PGA Tour events.

A native of Savannah, Ga., Silvers recorded an eagle on the 270-yard par-4 12th after his drive nearly rolled in the hole. He also made three birdies, six bogeys and a double bogey on the afternoon.
