MONROE TOWNSHIP, N.J. – South Carolina senior Sean Kelly earned a spot in the field for the 115th U.S. Amateur Championship on Tuesday by winning the qualifier at Forsgate Country Club’s Banks Course.

Kelly claimed a four-stroke victory with a 36-hole total of 133 (-9), firing rounds of 67 (-4) and 66 (-5). Max Greyserman and Michael Hyland also qualified by finishing second and third, respectively, with totals of 137 (-5) and 139 (-3).

A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Kelly will be making his second U.S. Amateur appearance as he also qualified in 2010. This year’s U.S. Amateur will be contested at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Ill., on Aug. 17-23. A total of 312 golfers will play 18 holes of stroke play on Aug. 17-18 to determine the low 64 scorers for six rounds of match play, which begins on Aug. 19.
