COLUMBIA, S.C. ââ’¬” South Carolina women’s basketball season-ticket holders gathered at Colonial Life Arena Wednesday night for The Pre-Show Party presented by All South Federal Credit Union. Over 1,000 fans enjoyed open practice, a season update from head coach Dawn Staley and a performance by artist Jared Emerson before a team autograph session.

The Gamecocks celebrated their partnership with All South Federal Credit Union as its vice president of marketing Audrey Brown share her enthusiasm for hosting the Chalk Talks again this season. All South also offered a suite for the regular-season opener against Ohio State, drawing a name from those at the event.

Brown introduced Staley, who gave fans an update on how practice has been going and how individual Gamecocks have elevated their games for this season. Staley reassured fans that All-American Tiffany Mitchell is progressing in her return from offseason foot surgery and expects her to be ready for the Nov. 13 season opener. DJ Loui Vee introduced the team with student-athletes walking out to music they selected.

An added element to this season’s season ticket pick-up event was Emerson, who turned a blank black canvas into a painting of Staley lifting the net from the Gamecocks’ 2015 NCAA Greensboro Regional title game overhead. The art will be displayed in women’s basketball’s newly remodeled offices. The team closed the night by signing autographs for everyone in attendance.

South Carolina will host an exhibition game at Colonial Life Arena on Fri., Nov. 6, against Newberry before kicking off the regular season the following Friday against Ohio State. Both tipoffs are set for 7 p.m. and games will air on SEC Network+.
