Gamecock senior forward Jeffrey Torda earned a spot on the 2015 Conference USA All-Academic Team, the league announced today. Torda becomes the 22nd Gamecock recipient of the honor.

Torda ranks second on South Carolina with 11 points and is tied for second with five goals. His four game-winning goals lead the team and ranks among the nation’s leaders. In the classroom, Torda majors in accounting, and he’s earned two C-USA Academic Medals and three Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll notations.

It’s the second academic award Torda taken this fall, after also garnering selection for the second-consecutive year on the Academic All-District 4 team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). He also earned a C-USA All-Academic Team spot as a junior.

New Mexico led all teams with three honorees, as 13 were honored for the 2015 season.

The Gamecocks, ranked 17th in the NSCAA poll, take on the sixth-seeded Lobos at 4:30 p.m. today in the C-USA Tournament at Transamerica Field in Charlotte, N.C.
