COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Athletics and Gamecock IMG Sports Marketing announce the debut of “Gamecock Insider” on Fox Sports Southeast on Sun., Dec. 6, at 11:30 a.m. The weekly magazine-style show replaces the traditional coach’s show format for the Gamecocks but will still include updates on in-season teams.

“There are so many ways for fans to get highlights and analysis from our coaches now that we wanted to shift the focus of these shows to more of the behind-the-scenes stories of South Carolina’s teams and student-athletes,” said Liz McMillan, executive director of Gamecock IMG Sports Marketing. “We know fans still want to know about the in-season teams, so we have kept that element with input from those coaches, but we know this more flexible format will allow us to deliver more current information across all sports, regardless of the season.”

The 30-minute show will feature pieces created by Gamecock Productions, who also generated content for the coach’s shows. The debut show this Sunday will feature the softball team’s Wounded Warrior game, football standout Pharoh Cooper’s relationship with his father, a piece on the military salute at the halftime of The Citadel football game, women’s basketball senior Asia Dozier’s look back at her childhood and a look at the men’s basketball freshmen in addition to team updates from head coaches Dawn Staley and Frank Martin.

Fox Sports Southeast, formerly SportSouth, will debut that week’s episode of Gamecock Insider every Sunday at 11:30 a.m. with various re-airs throughout the week. In Columbia, Fox Sports Southeast can be found at channel 21 on Time Warner Cable, channel 649 on DirecTV and channel 729 on AT&T U-verse.
