COLUMBIA, S.C. ââ’¬” Sophomore guard Kaydra Duckett has decided to step away from team activities for the spring semester to focus on academics, South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley announced today.

The 5-foot-8 Columbia, S.C., product played in eight games this semester, including the SEC opener against Arkansas on Jan. 3. Her 55 minutes on the court this season already surpassed her 52 minutes over 20 games in 2014-15. Duckett was an early sub in the season opener against No. 6/10 Ohio State and logged a career-high 15 minutes against Winthrop on Dec. 13.

South Carolina is back in action this afternoon, tipping off against No. 20/- Missouri at noon at Colonial Life Arena.
