Box Score

VALDIVIA, Chile ââ’¬” South Carolina freshman Tyasha Harris nearly had a double-double to help the United States to a 104-36 win over Puerto Rico to advance to Sunday’s gold medal game in the FIBA U18 Americas Championship in Valdivia, Chile. The Americans will play for their seventh-straight gold medal at the event on Sunday at 8:15 p.m. (ET) against either Canada or Brazil.

The Americans’ efficient offense and smothering defense throughout the game put them in control right out of the gate. After taking a 23-14 lead after the first quarter, the U.S. yielded just three points in the second period and took a 48-17 lead into halftime. In addition to swiping three steals, Harris made steady offensive contributions, scoring all four of her field goals on drives to the rim to finish the game with nine points to go with her personal tournament-high nine assists in just over 18 minutes of action.
