Gamecocks Sign Addie Cromer to National Letter of Intent

Nov. 14, 2016

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina equestrian team is thrilled to welcome Addie Cromer to the Gamecock family. Cromer recently signed a National Letter of Intent and will join the Carolina program for the 2017-18 season.

“Addie comes from a Gamecock family, so it is extra special to have her join us,” Carolina head coach Boo Major said. “Her experiences in reining will be a great benefit to us in the future.”

Cromer is a native of Anderson, S.C., and she attends T.L. Hanna High School. She is the daughter of Kevin and Aimee Cromer, and has two younger siblings: Lila and Field.

Cromer will represent the Gamecocks in reining and has won multiple accolades throughout her youth career. She is a former AQHA World Show Qualifier and a 2016 IEA Nationals Qualifier. In 2016, she was the Carolina Classic Youth Circuit Champion as well as the mid-Atlantic Classic Green Challenge Champion. She is also a NRHA Affiliate Finals Qualifier in Youth Reining.

A strong student, Cromer is an honor roll recipient and a member of the Avid Program. She plans to major in criminal justice at the University of South Carolina.

Carolina (3-2, 1-1 SEC) closes the fall season on Friday, Nov. 18, when they face No. 2 Auburn. The meet begins at 4 p.m. ET in Auburn, Ala.
