COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina women’s basketball 2017 signee Elisia Grissett has been selected to the Naismith Trophy High School Girls’ Midseason Team, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced Thursday.

The small forward is one of 25 seniors on the list for the prestigious award. The 10 national semifinalists for the honor will be released on Feb. 6.

Grissett, the No. 24-ranked prospect in the 2017 Class on the espnW 100, averaged 22.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists as a junior at Hillside High School to guide the Hornets to a 28-2 mark and a spot in the state semifinals. The Durham, N.C., native has averaged 22.0 points and 9.3 rebounds for Hillside (13-2) in games played through Jan. 10 this season.

Grissett began playing basketball in eighth grade and helped lead Hillside to a 26-3 record a year later after averaging 22.2 points and 9.3 rebounds to go along with 3.2 steals. She earned First-Team AP All-State honors in 2016.
