Gamecocks Return Home for Doubleheader

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina men’s tennis team returns home after three road matches to host a doubleheader Friday, Feb. 10 at the Carolina Tennis Center. The Gamecocks will face Old Dominion at noon and SC State in the afternoon with a tentative start time of 5 p.m.

Admission and parking for all home tennis matches is free of charge.

Head Coach Josh Goffi: “We’ll continue to build and focus on ourselves at this part of the season with the goal of seeing where we can improve from match to match. ODU and SC State will be a great measuring stick for that. ODU has been playing at a high level, and they’ve had a few big wins already this year. We’re excited to see how the matches unfold.”

QUICK HITS: OLD DOMINION

The Monarchs are 7-1 on the season, their one loss coming from No. 3 Ohio State in the regional championship match at ITA Kick-Off.
Junior Adam Moundir leads ODU, he is currently ranked No. 18 and is undefeated on the season.
The doubles pairing of Adam Moundir and Jacob Nicolussi is ranked No. 43 nationally.
The 2015-16 team finished ranked No. 45 nationally with an overall record of 21-5.
The team returned eight athletes from last season, adding one freshman.
Head coach Dominik Mueller enters his first season at ODU.

QUICK HITS: SC STATE

SC State is 1-4 on the season, coming off a 2-4 loss to Coastal Carolina.
The team is made up of five seniors and four juniors, all returning from the 2016 season.
The Bulldogs finished the 2015-16 season 12-9 overall and 3-1 in league play.
SC State has won 12-of-13 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference titles.
Head coach Hardeep Judge enters his 16th season at SC State.
