South Carolina won the first completed event, as Gallop took the men’s hammer throw. The senior opened his outdoor season with a toss of 213-3, less than two feet off of his personal best.

The Gamecocks took the top two spots in the men’s pole vault. Gyllensten cleared 15-5 with one miss while Armand Woodley cleared the same height with two misses. The mark was a personal best for the sophomore.
