Gamecocks Take Third at Gator Ranked +1

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Gabriel Friedrich and Francisco Cerundolo finished third in their singles draws today at the Gator Ranked +1. The day wrapped up the weekend of competition in Gainesville, Fla. The performances from individual Gamecocks marked a strong beginning of the fall season for South Carolina.

Gabriel Friedrich claimed third place in his draw, defeating Wake Forest’s Yuval Soloman 6-1, 6-7 (4), 6-1. Cerundolo also finished third in his draw, topping Tennessee’s Scott Jones 7-6, 3-6, 6-1.

The Gamecocks will be back in action next weekend at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. The competition will begin with pre-qualifiers on Sept. 30 and will continue through qualifiers and the main draw, which concludes on Oct. 9.
