Follow Women's Basketball at SEC Media Day Thursday

COLUMBIA, S.C. ââ’¬” Reigning national champion South Carolina is scheduled to participate in SEC Women’s Basketball Media Day on Thu., Oct. 19, from 1-3 p.m. Head coach Dawn Staley, senior forward A’ja Wilson and sophomore guard Tyasha Harris will represent the Gamecocks at the Omni Nashville Hotel and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Each of the SEC’s 14 teams’ representatives will participate in various stations to capture interviews and other creative footage to be used by the league office, SEC Network and ESPN throughout the season as well as meet with other local and national media in attendance.

There are several ways to keep up with the Gamecocks’ activities:

  • SEC Network will have the SEC Now set at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum for live coverage beginning at 11 a.m. ET. Maria Taylor will host the live coverage with Nell Fortner and Andy Landers.
  • Follow on the team’s social media accounts (@GamecockWBB) on Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat
  • Harris and Wilson will participate in an AP live chat on Twitter 1-1:30 p.m. ET. Use the hashtag #APBKW to join the conversation..
  • The Gamecocks will be on The Paul Finebaum Show on SEC Network at 3:05 p.m. ET.
  • South Carolina media covering the event include Gamecock Central, South Carolina Radio Network, Spurs & Feathers, The Post & Courier, The State and Big Spur.
