Men's Tennis Set For Doubleheader

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. –
No. 25 South Carolina men’s tennis heads to Williamsburg, Va., for its third doubleheader of the season on Friday. The Gamecocks will take on the host school, William & Mary, at noon before playing Howard at 5 p.m.
South Carolina is 7-1 this season, coming off of wins over South Carolina State (4-1) and Charlotte (6-1) in last Friday’s doubleheader. The Gamecocks rallied after dropping the doubles point against South Carolina State, going 10-1 in match points for the rest of the day.
GAMECOCK NOTABLES
- South Carolina is ranked No. 25 in the Oracle/ITA Division I Rankings, the organization announced Wednesday. The ranking makes South Carolina one of five Southeastern Conference teams ranked in the top 25.
- The ITA released new singles and doubles rankings for the first time since Nov. 15 on Wednesday. The Gamecocks had three individuals ranked in the top 125: Francisco Cerundolo at No. 87, Yancy Dennis at No. 95 and Gabriel Friedrich at No. 109.

- The Tribe is 4-0 in 2018 with wins over Monmouth, Elon, Penn and Richmond.
- William & Mary has had two individuals named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week this season. Freshman Louis Newman was the first on Jan. 31, followed by senior Christian Cargill on Feb. 7.
- The Gamecocks are up 6-1 in their series against William & Mary.

- The Bison are 0-3 on the season after losses to Navy, Loyola (Md.) and Longwood.
- South Carolina and Howard have faced off once before in 1981 when the Gamecocks swept the Bison 9-0.
