Former Gamecocks Dambaugh and Dreher Set For Australian Open

Feb. 14, 2018

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Former Gamecock women’s golf standouts Katelyn Dambaugh (2013-17) and Justine Dreher (2011-15) will compete in the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open this weekend in Adelaide, Australia.

The 72-hole event at Kooyonga Golf Club takes place Feb. 15-18, and coverage of each round will be provided by Golf Channel.

This week will mark Dambaugh’s second event as a full-time member on the LPGA Tour. Dreher, a member of the Ladies European Tour, earned a spot in the field after carding a 3-under 69 at the qualifier round on Tuesday.

The former teammates and All-Americans helped the Gamecocks earn the program’s first No. 1 ranking in the fall of 2014 before leading Carolina to the 2015 NCAA East Regional Title later that season. Dambaugh closed her collegiate career with the school’s lowest career stroke average, while Dreher totaled nine top-five finishes and 13 top-10 showings during her time in Columbia.
