COLUMBIA, S.C. — The University of South Carolina baseball team returns to Founders Park to start a four-game homestand this Tuesday (April 17) against Presbyterian. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Thursday’s game will be streamed on SEC Network Plus with Burch Antley and Kip Bouknight on the call. Every game will be on the IMG Gamecock Radio Network with Derek Scott and Tommy Moody on the call.
South Carolina dropped 2-of-3 games at No. 3 Arkansas this past weekend. The Gamecocks won the series opener, 3-2, as Carlos Cortes‘ two-run home run in the fifth was the difference.

SCOUTING PRESBYTERIAN
> Presbyterian was swept at home by Campbell, dropping a pair of one-run contests on Saturday. A.J. Priaulx was 3-for-5 with two RBI in the 4-3 series finale with the Camels. Priaulx leads the Blue Hose and is 14th in the country with a .404 batting average. He also has 13 doubles, five home runs and 34 RBI. Jonathan White is hitting .376 with six doubles and 31 RBI. On the mound, Eric Miles is 6-4 with a 4.25 ERA and 29 strikeouts, while Tanner Chock has 44 strikeouts in 45.2 innings pitched.
SERIES VS. PRESBYTERIAN
> South Carolina holds a 47-19 series advantage on Presbyterian heading into Tuesday. The Gamecocks defeated the Blue Hose, 4-3, last season as Alex Destino was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Jacob Olson and Madison Stokes had two hits apiece while Cody Morris struck out three in 4.2 innings pitched.

CORTES’ LONGBALL LIFTS GAMECOCKS OVER RAZORBACKS
> Sophomore Carlos Cortes went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run in the top of the fifth inning, lifting Carolina to a 3-2 win over No. 3 Arkansas on Thursday, April 12. Cortes’ home run was his eighth of the season and 20th in his career. He also tied a season-high with three hits in the win. Cortes is hitting .300 with three home runs and eight RBI in Carolina’s last 10 games.
BRIDE’S IMPRESSIVE REACHED BASE STREAK ENDS AT 30
> Jonah Bride had a 30-game reached base streak snapped in Saturday’s first game of the Arkansas doubleheader. He extended the streak to 30 on Thursday with a single in the eighth inning. Bride has a .305 batting average and has a .416 on-base percentage. Bride also is hitting .346 in conference games.
BRIDGES SOLID OUT OF THE ‘PEN
> Sawyer Bridges picked up his second win of the season, pitching 2.2 innings of relief and not allowing a run with a strikeout. Bridges has a microscopic 0.50 ERA in 10 appearances with a save and 11 strikeouts.
SC IN THE SEC LEADERS
> Adam Hill leads the SEC in opponent’s batting average (.138) and is tied for ninth in strikeouts with 60. Eddy Demurias is tied for fifth with 17 appearances on the mound. Jacob Olson is tied for eighth in the league with nine home runs. TJ Hopkins is tied for sixth in the conference with 11 stolen bases, while Noah Campbell is tied for fourth with three triples. South Carolina is sixth in the league with a .978 fielding percentage.
