Gamecocks Crack Top-25 in Final ITA Rankings

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina men’s tennis finished at No. 23 in the final Oracle/ ITA Rankings release of the season. No. 36 Gabriel Friedrich moved up four spots in the final singles rankings while No. 56 Paul Jubb moved up three spots to reach a career high ranking.
Carolina finished with three pairs in the final doubles rankings of the year- No. 32 Yancy Dennis and Gabriel Friedrich, No. 40 Friedrich and Thomas Mayronne, and No. 68 Dennis and Harrison O’Keefe.
The Gamecocks, who finished 21st in last season’s final team rankings, earned their first back-to-back top-25 finishes since 2001-02 and 2002-03. South Carolina is 40-16 (16-8 SEC) over the past two years climbing as high as No. 16 in the country during that span.
South Carolina had its first ever back-to-back winning SEC seasons in program history after winning its final five home matches of the regular season.
Jubb cracked the ITA top 125 for the first time in his career on Apr. 3, while Friedrich was ranked as high as No. 29 this spring, the highest non-preseason ranking for a South Carolina men’s tennis player since 2001.
