COLUMBIA –The University of South Carolina baseball team fell in three of four games this week, dropping a midweek game against North Carolina A&T and losing 2-of-3 games to Auburn at home.

NOTES:
Reid Morgan came up big in Carolina’s 4-0 win on Saturday against Auburn. The junior from Kingwood, Texas, struck out four and allowed just five hits with no runs or walks as the Gamecocks shut out an opponent for the second time this season.
George Callil had an impressive series against the Tigers. The Melbourne, Australia native was 6-for-11 with two doubles and a home run and also made a tremendous play at shortstop in the ninth inning of Sunday’s game. Callil is hitting .246 with five doubles and two home runs this season.
Brett Kerry continues to impress for the Gamecocks. The freshman is 2-1 with a 2.05 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 26.1 innings pitched in 11 appearances. Kerry threw the last two innings of Saturday’s win with a pair of strikeouts and pitched three innings on Sunday, allowing just one hit with no runs and a strikeout.
Carolina had four more home runs on the weekend, upping its season total to 46. Eight different players have at least four home runs on the season.
South Carolina head to BB&T Ballpark for a Tuesday night game before travelling to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for a Thursday-Saturday series at Alabama. The first two games are on SEC Network.
