Swimming and Diving Named to CSCAA Scholar All-America Team.

COLUMBIA, S.C.-  The South Carolina swimming and diving teams enjoyed another successful semester in the classroom, being named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association’s (CSCAA) Scholar All-America team for the Spring 2019 semester. The Gamecocks joined a CSCAA-record 480 institutions on the list.
 
Both the men’s and women’s teams finished with over a 3.0 GPA for the spring semester. The men’s team earned its highest GPA to date with a 3.53, which ranked eighth nationally, the Gamecocks’ the women’s team continued its academic success, earning a 3.65.
 
The Spring 2019 semester marks the ninth-straight semester that both the men’s and women’s teams have been named to the team.
 
“We pride ourselves in providing an environment at South Carolina that fosters elite performance in the pool and in the classroom” said head coach McGee Moody. “Our student-athletes work extremely hard, and I am so proud of their academic success. They are great young people that embody the true meaning of being a student-athlete. “
 
In the pool, South Carolina was equally successful, with six different Gamecocks earning nine All-America recognitions.

The CSCAA individual Scholar All-Americans will be announced next week.
