Gamecocks Announce 2019-20 Schedule

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina equestrian head coach Boo Major has released the 2019-20 schedule that features 13 regular season meets, including seven at home and six away competitions.

In addition to the regular season action, the Gamecocks will partake in two exhibition meets and also host a tri-meet with Sweet Briar and South Dakota State.

“We are excited about our upcoming season of home and away competitions,” Major said. “We will have top-ranked competition both home and away all year long and more Saturday home meets this year. That is always exciting for our fans. Of course, the SEC schools will be our fiercest competition as always, but our young women are always up for the challenge and this coming year will be no exception.”

Carolina kicks off the season with an exhibition against an opponent to be decided on Friday, Sept. 13, at 2 p.m. at One Wood Farm in Blythewood, S.C. Beginning the regular season, Fresno State comes to South Carolina on Friday, Sept. 20, for a 2 p.m. meet.

Hitting the road and starting SEC play, the Gamecocks head to Georgia for a meet on Saturday, Oct. 5. Carolina then comes home to take on Texas A&M on Friday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. before taking off to College Station, Texas, to compete against Texas A&M on Friday, Nov. 1.

The Gamecocks host their last home meet of the fall opposite of UT Martin on Friday, Nov. 15, at 1 p.m. at One Wood Farm. Finishing out the fall season on the road, Carolina first has a meet against SMU on Friday, Nov. 22, and then heads up to compete at Oklahoma State on Saturday, Nov. 23.

After a winter break, South Carolina will take part in an exhibition on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. against an opponent to be decided.

The following weekend, Carolina hosts a tri-meet with Sweet Briar and South Dakota State. First, the Gamecocks and Sweet Briar face off on Friday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. After that, the Vixens and Jackrabbits compete at 2 p.m. On Saturday, South Carolina and SDSU finish up the weekend at 11 a.m.

Seeing three SEC opponents back-to-back, the Gamecocks play host to Texas A&M on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. and Georgia at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22. They then travel to Auburn for a meet on Saturday, Feb. 29.

In its last regular-season meet, Carolina goes up to Delaware State for a competition on Friday, March 6.

This year, Georgia hosts the SEC Championships from March 27 to 28 in Bishop, Ga. The NCEA Championships are in Waco again this upcoming season, hosted by Baylor, from April 15 to 18. Carolina is a three-time national champion, claiming the title in 2005, 2007 and 2015.
