Gamecocks Wrap up 2019 FINA World Championships
GWANGJU, South Korea- South Carolina swimming and diving was well represented at the 2019 FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea. With nine current and former student-athletes participating, the Gamecocks compiled 10 top-25 finishes with a high of ninth by rising sophomore Anton Down-Jenkins (New Zealand) in the 3-meter mixed synchronized dive.
“We are so proud of all our past and present Gamecock athletes and how they represented our program and their home countries,” head coach McGee Moody said. “It was a great measuring stick for their progress toward the ultimate goal of representing their country on the Olympic stage in Tokyo! The best is yet to come for all of these athletes.”
