Mayr named to Preseason All-Conference USA Team

DALLAS, TEXAS —- South Carolina men’s soccer senior Luca Mayr represents the Gamecocks on the 2019 Conference USA Men’s Soccer Preseason Team for the second-straight year, the league office announced Tuesday. 
 
Mayr comes off a successful junior campaign in 2018 in which he led the Gamecocks in points (11) for the second-consecutive season with four goals and three assists on his way to earning Second Team All-C-USA honors as a midfielder. 
 
South Carolina opens 2019 with exhibition play on Aug. 17 against Duke while the regular season opens Aug. 30 at Clemson. The home opener is set for Sept. 3 against Gardner-Webb.
