Gamecocks Tied for Seventh after Two at Tar Heel Invitational

Chapel Hill, N.C. – The South Carolina women’s golf team got back on track Saturday as the Gamecocks shot an 8-under to move into a tie for seventh place at the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational with a round left to play.
 
“Much improved and sharper play from the entire group today,” head coach Kalen Anderson said. “We did a better job of taking advantage of par-5 scoring. Looking forward to a big day tomorrow.”
 
Emily Price led the Carolina surge on Saturday shooting a 4-under (68) to put her in a tie for 13^th place. Price sank five birdies, second best on the team today.
 
Lois Kaye Go had another stellar day, shooting a 2-under (70) and a team leading six birdies to sit in a tie for 23^rd place after two.
 
Mathilde Classie had her best round as a Gamecock so far with a 2-under (70). The freshman is tied for 30^th place.
 
Pauline Roussin-Bouchard and Ana Pelaez enter the final round tied for 46^th place. Roussin-Bouchard notched a 72 today, while Pelaez shot 73. Smith Knaffle moved up to a tie for 58^th place with her 72 today.
 
The final round at the UNC Finley Golf Course gets underway at 9:15 a.m. Sunday with a shotgun start.
