TEMPE, Ariz. – South Carolina’s doubles team of senior Ingrid Gamarra Martins and junior Mia Horvit have claimed the highest doubles ranking in program history, coming in at No. 4 in the country in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) latest poll as announced Wednesday morning.

The tandem owns an overall record of 13-2 and is undefeated in dual matches at the No. 1 position, 3-0. Against nationally ranked opponents, Gamarra Martins and Horvit have a 4-2 mark, including an unfinished, 4-4, battle against then-ranked No. 3 and now-ranked No. 2 Fernanda Navarro and Marie Leduc of Clemson.

Also in the doubles poll for Gamecocks, sophomore Megan Davies and senior Rachel Rohrabacher stayed put at No. 23. Carolina’s duo sits at 11-6 overall and 3-0 in duals on court two. So far, the 2018-19 season has seen Davies and Rohrabacher notch wins over the No. 4- and No. 5-ranked doubles teams.

Gamarra Martins is also ranked in singles at No. 16. She has an overall mark of 13-5, including going 1-1 in dual matches at the No. 1 spot.

Senior Paige Cline adds to Carolina’s rankings, coming in at No. 38. Playing at the No. 2 position, Cline has a dual record of 2-1 and is 11-4 overall.

Rounding out the individual rankings, Horvit sees her name at No. 79. Horvit is 4-1 in duals, including two clinches, and has an overall mark of 11-3.

Up next, the Gamecocks head to Seattle where they will participate in ITA National Team Indoors from Feb. 8-11.
