Corinna Zullo Named on TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina women’s soccer freshman forward Corinna Zullo was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com’s Team of the Week for her performance against Mississippi State, the publication announced Tuesday.

The newcomer scored the game-winning goal for the Gamecocks in their 2-0 win over the Bulldogs last Friday. The gamewinner for Zullo is the first of her career and the second goal of her career at South Carolina. Zullo came off the bench, making an impact in her 19 minutes of action on the pitch. Zullo made her mark with a right-footed strike in the box after a Jyllissa Harris corner kick was settled. Zullo backed up and struck the ball high above the Bulldogs’ keeper to put Carolina on top 1-0 in the second half.

Heather Hinz was also mentioned as an honorable mention by the publication. Hinz made four saves for the Gamecocks in the shutout win, including a key penalty kick save in the second half to keep Carolina on top 1-0 after Zullo’s go-ahead goal.

South Carolina (6-1-0, 6-1-0 SEC) will play Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn., on Nov. 6. The match can be seen on SEC Network + or the ESPN App at 6 p.m.
