Women’s Golf Announces Spring Schedule
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The University of South Carolina women’s golf team announced its spring schedule, where the team will compete in four tournament ahead of the postseason, on Tuesday.
“The SEC has been extremely proactive in creating a regionally based schedule, as well as in making a strong effort to minimize risks associated with the pandemic,” head coach Kalen Anderson said. “The Gamecocks are eager to continue our momentum from last fall with a very competitive spring schedule. We have a very strong squad, and we look forward to showcasing added depth this semester.”
Carolina gets the spring started at the Moon Golf Invitational, hosted by the University of Louisville at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla. on Feb. 14-16.
A busy March gets underway when Carolina hosts the Gamecock Intercollegiate at the Columbia Country Club on March 1-3. Following that the Gamecocks head to the Valspar Augusta Invitational, hosted by Augusta University on March 13-14. The next weekend sees the Garnet and Black head to Georgia for the Liz Murphey Spring Collegiate Classic on March 19-21 for the final tournament of regular season.
Carolina then turns its focus to the SEC Championship on April 14-18 in Birmingham, Ala. at the Greystone Golf and Country Club. The Gamecocks then head to the NCAA Regionals, set for May 10-12 and the NCAA Championship on May 21-26 at Greyhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The Gamecocks finished the fall season with the No. 1 spot in the Golfweek rankings, and the No. 2 spot in the Golfstat rankings.
