Baseball Ends Homestand Tuesday Night vs. The Citadel
The Gamecocks and Bulldogs meet for the third time this season.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The University of South Carolina baseball team wraps up its homestand on Tuesday night (April 27) when the Gamecocks host The Citadel for the second time this season. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday’s game will be televised on SEC Network Plus. Every Gamecock contest will be on the Gamecock Radio Network with Derek Scott and Tommy Moody on the call. Carolina took one game from No. 1 Arkansas this past weekend, winning 6-2 in the first game of the Friday doubleheader behind a four-run sixth inning. Andrew Peters earned the win in relief while Brett Kerry picked up his fourth save.
PARKING INFORMATION
For the 2021 season, there will not be shuttles from either the Key Road Gravel Lot or the Colonial Life Arena parking lot. There will be passes at lot 1 available for $10 apiece.

SCOUTING THE CITADEL
The Bulldogs were swept by UNC Greensboro this past weekend. Ryan McCarthy leads The Citadel with a .313 batting average and seven home runs. Noah Mitchell is tied for the team lead with McCarthy with 11 doubles. On the mound, Jake Pilarski has a 2-1 record with 65 strikeouts in 62 innings pitched.
SERIES VS. THE CITADEL
The two teams will meet for the third time this season on the diamond. Carolina won in Charleston, 11-7, on March 10 as Josiah Sightler drove in four runs in the victory. The Gamecocks then won 8-3 on March 23 as Will Sanders struck out 10 batters and Wes Clarke homered and drove in a pair of runs.
LATE RALLY LIFTS CAROLINA PAST NUMBER ONE
The Gamecocks scored four runs in the sixth and two in the eighth in overcoming a 2-0 deficit in a 6-2 win over No. 1 Arkansas on April 23. Colin Burgess drove in a pair of runs in the win and George Callil had a big RBI single in the sixth inning. Andrew Peters struck out three in three hitless innings and Brett Kerry picked up a save with three strikeouts in 1.1 innings of work. It’s the first win over a number one team since Carolina beat Florida in 2016.
ALLEN RANKS IN SEC PLAY
Brady Allen is hitting .295 with 14 runs scored, four doubles, seven home runs and 18 RBI after 18 conference games. He is tied for fourth in the conference in home runs, tied for fourth with five stolen bases, fifth with 48 total bases and tied for eighth in RBI.
