Hall Named to Haskins Award Preseason Watch List

Senior one of 20 players in the nation for men's college golf's top honor

COLUMBUS, Ga. —  Men’s golf standout Ryan Hall was named to the Fred Haskins Award preseason watch list on Friday, it was announced in conjunction with the Golf Channel and Golfweek.  The Knoxville, Tenn. native, who was a finalist for the award last season, is one of 20 players on the list.

The Haskins Award is awarded annually to the most outstanding men’s college golfer, as voted on by players, coaches and media members. Past winners of the Haskins Award include Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Ben Crenshaw and last season’s winner, John Pak.

Hall returns to campus for his senior season looking to build off a 2020-21 campaign in which he was named a PING First Team All-American and was one of the top players in the country. The four-year starter was the first player in program history to post a sub-70, single-season scoring average (69.97). His career scoring average of 70.79 is the lowest in program history.

This summer, Hall made his PGA TOUR debut after receiving a sponsor’s exemption into the 3M Open (July 22-25). He also helped lead the United States team to 33-27 win in the 25th Arnold Palmer Cup (June 11-13) at Rich Harvest Farms.

The Gamecocks will tee it up for the first time in the 2021-22 season Sept. 20-21 at the Scenic City Intercollegiate in Ooltewah, Tenn. at The Honors Course.
