Gamecocks to compete in ITA Carolina Regionals
Cary, N.C. – Six players from South Carolina men’s tennis are in Durham, N.C. to compete in the ITA Carolina Regionals at Carry Tennis Park. The tournament will begin Fri., Oct. 22 and continue through Tues., Oct. 26.
Many Gamecocks are familiar with this tournament, having played it last in 2019. Raphael Lambling and Connor Thomson both advanced to the quarterfinal rounds with Thomson knocking off a ranked opponent on his way there. The team went 15-6 in singles during the 2019 tournament.
Gamecock Notables
- No. 16 Connor Thomson and No. 39 Raphael Lambling look to bounce back after taking early departures from the main draw of the ITA All-American tournament.
- No. 49 Toby Samuel aims to pick back up the momentum he gained at the ITA All-Americans after advancing through the qualifying rounds to the main draw.
- No. 56 James Story enters the tournament with confidence after going 3-1 in singles at the Bulldog Invitational.
