Prentice Represents Football on CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

The graduate student carried a 3.60 GPA as a Civil Engineering Major

COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina football’s Adam Prentice was named to the 2020-21 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team Thursday afternoon. The team recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Prentice has a 3.60 grade point average in his civil engineering master’s program. The Fresno, Calif. native earned his undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Colorado State before joining South Carolina for the 2020-21 school year.

South Carolina’s district also includes Division I universities from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Puerto Rico.

Prentice played in 47 career games between his time at Colorado State and South Carolina. Playing at fullback as a Gamecock, Prentice appeared in all 10 games with five starts in lone season at South Carolina. As a Ram, he played in 37 games and was a four-time Mountain West academic honor roll member.

All of the Academic All-District honorees now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Prentice is in contention to be the first Gamecock to make one of the three national teams since Dalton Wilson in 2011 and the seventh academic all-American overall in program history. First-, second- and third-team all-America honorees will be announced in early July.
