Recipients of 2021-22 Endowed Scholarships Announced
COLUMBIA, S.C. – University of South Carolina Athletics announced today the recipients of 19 endowed scholarships across seven sports and the Gamecock Club. Recipients for endowed scholarships are selected each year by the sport’s head coach or department head.
The 2021-22 recipients of endowed scholarships are:

The Jack Wilson Internship Endowment – Audrey Reding
Heading into his fourth season as a two-way player for the Gamecocks, Gaston, S.C. native Josiah Sightler hit .268 with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 31 RBI in 2021 while making five appearances on the mound, where he struck out eight in 7.2 innings pitched. Julian Bosnic heads into 2022 after making 22 appearances with four starts on the mound for South Carolina last season, during which he went 4-2 with a 2.84 ERA, four saves and 78 strikeouts in 50.2 innings pitched. Senior Andrew Eyster led the team in batting average last season, adding nine doubles, a triple, 11 home runs and 42 RBI to the Gamecock offense. Wesley Sweatt made 10 appearances in 2021 after a freshman season that saw him turn 23 appearances into 31 strikeouts in 43.2 innings pitched. Sophomore Will Sanders was a Freshman All-American and SEC All-Freshman selection last season behind a 6-3 record, a 3.54 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 53.1 innings pitched. Braylen Wimmer was the Gamecocks’ leader in doubles (15) last season with a .512 slugging percentage and 15 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI performances.
Collin Garrett is a senior men’s basketball manager from Charleston, S.C. A psychology major who aspires to be a college men’s basketball coach, he has worked with the Gamecock team for four seasons.
In women’s basketball, senior Victaria Saxton moved into a starting role last season and delivered 8.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting a team-high 57.3 percent from the field. She was named to the NCAA Hemisfair Region All-Tournament Team after averaging 10.2 points on 65.6 percent shooting at the tournament. Junior forward Aliyah Boston is a two-time Lisa Leslie Center of the Year and SEC Defensive Player of the Year who was a consensus first-team All-American last season after averaging a double-double for the season (13.7 ppg, 11.8 rpg), in SEC play (13.3 ppg, 12.3 rpg) and against ranked teams (14.4 ppg, 12.1 rpg).
Football’s six endowed scholarships include three position-specific awards. Luke Doty is the projected starting quarterback after appearing in eight games, including a pair of starts, as a true freshman in 2020, during which he completed 61 percent of his passes for 405 yards and a pair of touchdowns. E.J. Jenkins is a transfer tight end/wide receiver who is expected to be a matchup nightmare for opposing coaches with his 6-foot-7, 243-pound frame. Defensive tackle Jabari Ellis extended his time in the Garnet and Black for another year after starting eight games in 2020 with 27 tackles. The 2021 Joe Morrison Co-Offensive Player of the Spring, Dakereon Joyner is a versatile performer who has played quarterback, wide receiver and returned kids in his three seasons at South Carolina. A fourth-year player who earned a scholarship for 2021, Trey Adkins has worked his way into the rotation at wide receiver. Sumter native Keem Green is a transfer who returned to his South Carolina roots this season with an eye on contribution in the middle of the offensive line in 2021.
Women’s golf freshman Hannah Darling joins the Gamecocks after winning the 2021 R&A Girls Amateur Championship, one of the top women’s amateur events in the world. The Midlothian, Scotland, native is wrapping up her time across the pond playing the Curtis Cup for the Great Britain and Ireland team before making her way to Columbia.
A four-year men’s soccer starter, Donnie Wu has helped the Gamecock defense in 16 career appearances, including seven in the 2020 season to be part of four Gamecock shutouts.
On the track, Evan Miller qualified for the 2021 East Regional in the 200 meters, adding a 100-meter victory at the Gamecock Invitational among his five top-five finishes in the 2021 outdoor campaign.
Premium seating and events graduate assistant Audrey Reding moved into that role after serving as a Gamecock Club intern this spring and summer. The Plymouth, Mich., native earned her bachelor’s degree from Detroit Mercy in 2018 and is on track to graduate from South Carolina with her master’s in sport and entertainment management later this year.
